Our Matwork Classes

All our classes are taught by Physiotherapists who are trained in Pilates and each class is tailored to suit people with differing needs. We believe in keeping class sizes small, this  makes sure we can modify exercises where needed and give you the feedback you need.

Due to the impact of Covid, we are currently running our classes in village halls.

Class sizes range from 7  to a maximum of 12 people, depending on the location and current guidelines.

Before You Start Classes

We want you to get the most out of attending our sessions. The more we know about you, including your goals and any injuries or medical conditions, the more we can help. For this reason we require  you to attend a 50 minute individual consultation with one of our Physiotherapists, before joining a class.

This ensures that we are able to find the right class at the right level to suit your needs.

If we feel that any of the exercises may need to be modified slightly in the classes it gives us an opportunity to go through this with you alongside some other Pilates exercises. We are currently conducting these sessions over Zoom.

We offer a “New Starter Package” that includes your initial consultation and a block of classes as well as a 10% discount.

Already practising Pilates?

We sometimes get asked if you need an assessment if you are already doing Pilates? We feel that to get the most out of the sessions an individual appointment before you start will focus you on what you want to get out the classes but also help us advise the right level class for you. However, we do understand that if you have been practising Pilates for a while you may prefer just to join a class and we are always happy to discuss this with you. Just drop us a message and we’ll be happy to help.

What to Expect in a Class

We start the 50 minute class in standing. Focusing on warming up the body and mind, thinking about posture and breathing. Exercises may include those to work on balance, strength and flexibility. We then move onto the mat, exercises may include different positions such as side lying, hands and knees, lying on your back or front.  The exercises that we do will depend on the type and level of the class. You can find more details about each class below.

What to Bring

Due to covid, we are currently unable to provide mats so please bring your own mat to the sessions and a small towel or cushion to support your head. It is also advisable to bring a drink to keep hydrated.

Please refer to our Covid Policy for more details on what we are doing to ensure the safety of our clients and instructors at this time.

Covid Policy

I have been coming to Physio 2 Pilates for over 2 years now. I do 2 classes a week, a Mat class and a Reformer class. I had various aches and pains, nothing serious, but a lack of flexibility and get up and go.
Since doing Pilates the aching back, the tight shoulders and neck tension are a thing of the past and I generally feel fitter and more active. The Physios taking the classes know you and ensure you are cared for and that you exercise in a way that will not strain you but you will be challenged to do as much as you can do. As class sizes are small, they can adapt exercises to suit you. They are always encouraging and supportive. For the first time ever, I look forward to exercise classes and always have a greater sense of well being after a class. Not to mention being an inch taller after all the stretching!

I find these classes excellent, I like the fact that there are not large numbers of people. I feel the quality of the class is assured as the instructors are all fully trained and qualified Physiotherapists....everyone is able to work at their own level and injuries are taken into account.

Elaine, Solihull

Its good to find a Pilates class run by Physiotherapists who take such care to tailor the exercises to the abilities and physical problems of the individual class members, they also make it fun to be there!

Carole, Solihull

Sessions are rigorous and enjoyable.....and the personal attention we receive within the group is excellent. I cannot recommend this provision highly enough

Ive attended Physio 2 Pilates for over three years now and what a difference its made to me on a number of levels!

All instructors are all well trained, effective communicators and are committed to what they do. Class sizes mean the team gets to know the individual, and their capabilities, allowing them to tailor elements of the class to individual needs, if necessary.

Wholly recommended - theyre a great team.

Anne, Solihull

Its important to me that the Pilates instructors are all qualified Physiotherapists - they give individual attention to each and every one of us during the class - this makes me feel safe and supported whilst enjoying the very friendly atmosphere. I always feel better after my Pilates class!
